French/Jones Family

Cheryl is a friend of mine from high school. We went out to Dowses Beach in Osterville, MA with her family where they had a picnic and we took some influenced candids. This is my ideal way of shooting. Its not photojournalism, really. Instead they are thought out, influenced portraits. Yet the subjects have the freedom to move somewhat and interact. This gives the images a more natural and casual feel and seem less posed and formal. Its perfect for those who don't want that cookie-cutter, awkward family portrait at the "say cheese" moment. Its more of a "day in the life of our family" look.
